On a cold January such as this one, nothing beats the warmth of a glowing fire and no gem has fiery qualities quite like a well cut garnet. Surrounded by delicate contrasting diamonds, the garnet in this ring, by architect Jeffrey Ross, is set aglow.
Red garnets have long been a part of our history dating back to the late antique roman world but many gem buyers do not realize that there is a rich palette of garnet colors that include greens, oranges, pinkish oranges, deeply saturated purplish reds, and even some blues.
Red garnet is one of the most common and widespread of gems and typically the colour that comes to mind when we think of garnets. But the rarest of garnets is a green garnet, known as tsavorite. Tsavorite is rarer and needs rarer rock chemistries and conditions to form. (Source: http://www.gia.edu/garnet)
"Always find a way to create something different" says Jeffrey Ross and that opportunity was not lost here.
Jeffrey opted to make creative use of space under the ring by designing this elaborate gallery for the bezel set square cushion ruby in this design.
This custom piece is exquisitely simple and almost reminiscent of medieval jewellery in its form and appearance. This is a stunning piece with a timeless quality.

Wearing Pink with Pride
This is a stunning piece created by Pamela Lauz. An 18” strand of pink fresh water baroque pearls is complimented by the contemporary, and yet timeless, beauty of the sterling silver heart toggle.
Wear the toggle in the front for a pendant like look, off to the side for a modern finish or wear the toggle in the back for a more traditional aesthetic.
Available for $595.00 at Jeffrey Ross Jewellery - orders can be shipped across Canada and Internationally.

Natural, heavenly and harmonious ~ Sapphire is the birthstone for September
Derived from the Greek word σαπφειρος, sappheiros, sapphire means ‘precious stone’. Historically regarded as an important stone, sapphire has a long and proud tradition in culture and history.
This exquisitely hand carved sapphire and diamond ring is a photo from the Jeffrey Ross Jewellery archives.
Why show it again? Well, perhaps we see a trend forming?
This particular client of ours opted for a wider band and chose to wear this ring alone rather than having a wedding set. She wanted the ring to make a statement and it certainly does.
Quite a number of bridal clients have been making similar decisions recently and moving away from the more traditional bridal set.
A sapphire as an engagement ring? Absolutely - Prince Charles gave Lady Diana a sapphire engagement ring that is now worn by Catherine, Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge.
Sapphire is a variety of the mineral corundum and occurs in all of the colours of the rainbow except red. (Red corundum is called ruby) Membership of the group is defined by the hardness - all corundum registers 9 on the Mohs scale (used to categorize gem hardness).
Blue sapphires are the most familiar and most requested by our clientele.
Some say that the Sapphire has been used for centuries as a symbol of the Heavens, a guardian of innocence, a bestower of truth, a promoter of good health and a preserver of chastity. Many Believe that the Sapphire brings gifts of fulfillment, joy, inner peace and a positive outlook on life.
Jeffrey Ross’ architectural style is once again evident in this beautiful wedding band. A basket-weave effect in a brushed yellow gold creates a final look was as warm as the summer sun and a symbolic representation of two lives being woven together in Marriage.
“Marriage is an Athenic weaving together of families, of two souls with their individual fates and destinies, of time and eternity - everyday life married to the timeless mysteries of the soul.” ~ Sir Thomas More
At the first consultation the happy couple expressed their desire to represent their strong personal bond with a chain or link motif as part of the ring’s design. During their discussion, Jeffrey asked the couple to weave their arms together - this was the inspiration behind the weave design - a strength through interconnectedness, mutual support and, of course, love.
Jeffrey Ross created this stunning, Ash Bark ring in 14K White Gold for an “outdoorsy” kind of Groom to be.
The finish of the ring has a realistic texture of tree bark and brings a rugged element to this simple, stunning piece.

It’s a funny thing, that moment (albeit brief) when paths cross and in an instant it is your destiny to be together - In that moment, there is nothing else. That moment eclipses all others.
This was the concept that crossed my mind in designing this “Eclipse” pendant for a dear client who wanted a special piece to commemorate a special marriage.
Her Husband’s wedding band, the diamond stud earrings that were a memorable gift and a pendant that was a souvenir from a trip together. All were transformed to create a unique custom piece where the componants coalesce as a singular pendant.
Marking a special occasion with a special ring…and lego (of course)
Creating a custom wedding band that tells a story.
Your love story is unique and special so why should your wedding band be any different?
A “story ring” is generally a symbolic band depicting icons, images and designs that represent YOUR personal story. It could contain important dates, places you have been together, common hobbies, loves and passions or something that reflects your history together - whatever is special to you. The beauty of a story ring is that means so much to you and is as unique and extraordinary as your love.
This is why we love to create custom pieces. ♥ This adorable couple requested a Groom’s wedding band that represents the things that they love (including lego)

Beautiful Bride Kimberly writes: Lego Wedding Love :)
Our mutual love of Lego was well-represented during our wedding festivities: Lego Ring Box, Lego blocks on the groom’s custom-designed ring, Lego Cake Topper Assembly Ceremony, and our lovely assembled Lego cake topper on a simple, single-tiered cake.
We love Lego!!!
Happy Valentine’s Day from Jeffrey Ross Jewellery
Rubies are the “King of Gemstones”
Back by popular demand - This custom designed ring, created by The Architect, Jeffrey Ross, was made using a heart shaped ruby of Tanzanian origin - The diamonds and ruby were sourced specifically for this client and set in stunning 14k white gold for a contemporary touch.
What makes the ruby an ideal stone for Valentine’s Day? Well, According to www.gemstoneadvisor.com; “Rubies are considered the most powerful gemstone of all. In Sanskrit the word for ruby is ‘ratnaraj’ which loosely translates to ‘king of gemstones’. The king of gemstones of course comes with many benefits. Ruby stones are stones of love, passion, vitality and power.
Red is the color of love and passion making rubies highly valuable for those in a relationship or are searching for one. It improves your sexuality and increases passion.”
